Grant Writing Workshops announced
The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is pleased to host two grant-writing training opportunities in early December 2009 that require registration by November 9.
Write Winning Grants (Hypothesis-Driven Research)
December 2, 2009 - 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Write Winning Revisions - Attendees must have attended a Write Winning Grants Seminar previously (either on December 2, 2009 or earlier).
December 3, 2009 - 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
These training opportunities are open to WSU faculty, post-docs, and space permitting, advanced doctoral students. The OVPR is sponsoring a major portion of the cost to bring Grant Writers' Seminars and Workshops, LLC, to campus.
The fee for seminar materials for the Write Winning Grants seminar on December 2 is $75 and may be paid through a department index account transfer or by personal check. Please have WSU index account number, budget contact name and e-mail address ready when you register as you will need to enter this information at time of registration. If you will be submitting a check, please send to: Sarah James @ Office of the Vice President, 5057 Woodward, Suite 6409.5. Checks must be made out to Wayne State University. Light morning refreshments and lunch will be served outside the auditorium. Each attendee will receive a copy of The Grant Application Writer's Workbook. When you register you will need to identify which version of the workbook you need (see complete details on Web site listed below for descriptions of workbooks.)
The Write Winning Revisions seminar on December 3 will include discussion of the critiques of applications that have previously been submitted by members of the audience. We are asking for volunteers to provide your specific aims and reviewer critiques for grant proposals that were unfunded to be used as examples during the seminar. OVPR is covering the full cost of the December 3 seminar.
