Internal Funding: Multidisciplinary Research Group Incubator Program
The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) announces the availability of seed money to foster development of multidisciplinary research groups to secure program or center grant funding. Funds will be awarded on a competitive basis, based on advice from reviewers external to Wayne State University. Contingent upon available funds, up to $300,000/year, for up to 3 years (dependent upon yearly progress review) will be awarded to one or two multidisciplinary groups. Examples of such groups include, but certainly are not limited to, environmental health issues, alternative energy, nanotechnology, urban public policy, family resilience, and early education.
LOI's are due by November 23, 2009. Click on Notice of New Funding Opportunity: Multidisciplinary Research Group Incubator Program for full details.
A meeting will be held on November 3 from 1 to 2 p.m. in room 6202 (sixth floor) of 5057 Woodward Avenue to provide an overview of the funding guidelines and answer questions about this program. Potential applicants are highly encouraged to attend; however, if schedule conflicts prevent participation in the meeting, questions may be addressed to Sarah James in OVPR at sjames@wayne.edu or 577-8997.
