Bio 101 - Introductory Topics in Biology for Collaborators
In its second year, BIO 101 is a series of introductory lectures to help researchers in engineering and the physical sciences develop a deeper understanding of key subjects in biology. These lectures are specifically developed to assist faculty and Ph.D. students who may have had little formal education in biology, but are now involved or interested in collaborative research projects related to medicine and the life sciences.
Each session will be two hours, with the last hour devoting to networking and making contacts for research. The fall talks will focus on basic biological topics, and the spring talks will focus on systems issues, disease problems, etc. This lecture series is organized by Dr. Alan Hudson, Department of Immunology and Microbiology, and Dr. Chuck Manke, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, with support from the WSU Office of the Vice President for Research.
Lectures are every other Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 in the Engineering Building, Room 1200 (Hall of Fame). All interested faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students are invited to attend. Refreshments are provided. Please contact Sarah James at 577‐8997 or one of the organizers for further information.
